Amritarishta is also known as Amrutarishta, Amritarishtam etc.

Amritarishta an type of Arishta from Ayurveda which is used for treatment of Chronic fever, Typhoid Fever, Malaria, Indigestion and other infectious diseases 

It is the Arishta prepared from 'Amruta' that is Guduchi which is Jwaraghna and Aampachak.

This Arishta is beneficial in various types of Jwara especially in the stage of Dhatugata Jwara. In Vishamjwar, Amrutarishta helps in improvement of Liver and Spleen function.

Amritarishta contains about 5 10 % of self generated natural alcohol in it. This is self generated alcohol and the water present in the product. Presence of Dashamoola helps in Vatashaman and Rasayan Action.

All Arishta contains alcohol which helps improve digestion which means better digestion and assimilation of Nutrients in the food. . It reduces body pain after chronic illness, chronic fever, typhoid If provides relief from following :

Agnimanth 0.223 gm, Ativisha 0.022 gm, Bruhati 0.223 gm, Bilva Moola 0.223 gm, Gambhari 0.223 gm, Gokshur 0.223 gm, Guda 6.690 gm, Indrayav 0.022 gm, Kantakari 0.223 gm, Katuka 0.022 gm, Marich 0.022 gm, Musta 0.022 gm, Nagkeshar 0.022 gm, Patala 0.223 gm, Parpat 0.044 gm, Pippali 0.022 gm, Prushniparni 0.223 gm - Per 10 ml Guduchi 2.230gm, Prakshep Dravya Jeerak (Shweta) 0.357 gm, Saptaparni 0.022 gm, Shalparni 0.223 gm, Shunthi 0.022 gm, Shyonak 0.223 gm


2-4 spoons (10 to 20ml), 2-3 times a day, after meal with equal amount of lukewarm water

Side Effects of Amritarishta

How long to use Preferably taken on the doctors prescription, this medicine can be used for 4 8 weeks.

Safe for kids? Safe in lower doses for kids above 3 years of age.

Accidental over-dosage should be strictly avoided.

Pregnancy and lactation Best to avoid during pregnancy, however can be taken after consulting doctor.

Can be taken during lactation period, after consulting doctor.

Amritarishta side effects A very high dose of 50 ml or more may cause stomach irritation. Contra-indications It is not recommended in person with following problems-

  1. Diabetes- As jaggery is one of the ingredients, it should be not be used for diabetes patients.
  2. Hyperacidity- Due to its sour taste, it should be avoided in hyper-acidity and ulcers. It should taken with proper additional medicines for acidity if someone is having acidity.
  3. Ulcers- Amritarishta may worsen the conditions in the case of ulcers or Ulcerated Colon (ulcerative colitis) if any.
